Problem Note 57521: Connections to a load balanced workspace server fail, and the error "The Balance algorithm timed out before a server could be found" occurs
When a client application attempts to connect to a load balanced workspace server that is configured for host authentication without providing host credentials, the launch of the workspace server fails. The following error associated with this type of launch failure is written to the object spawner log file:
No host credentials exist to start this server. Either the client needs to send in host
credentials, or credentials need to be specified for the server.
In this scenario, the pending clients counter is incremented, but it is never decremented once the server fails to launch. If these launch failures continue to occur, the counter can increase to the point where new connections to the load balanced workspace server time out and fail. The following error is written to the object spawner log when this occurs:
The Balance algorithm timed out before a server could be found.
There is no workaround.
This problem is fixed in the second maintenance release for SAS® 9.4 (TS1M2).

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
SAS® token connections to a load balanced workspace server configured for host authentication erroneously increases the pending clients counter, which can lead to connection time-outs.
